Michael Razzano's Celestium

About Me...

As the title says, I'm Michael and this is my homepage. I'm a 22 year old college grad who spends too much time on the computer. I spend most of my time tinkering in one language or another, or looking up random curiosities online. Until recently, I've been living in Davis, CA earning my bachelor's degree in Computer Science. UC Davis isn't much of a party school, but I did pick up a taste for Chinese food and a love of biking. Look around the site to see some more of my interests.

Even though I spend a lot of time online, I do like to appreciate the outdoors. That's probably because of the many scenic places in which I've lived. I was born and raised mainly on the west shore of Lake Tahoe, amid the pine trees and my dad cursing at the snow. My father and I loved to go biking and hiking in the summer, among other things. I even lived in Hawaii for half a year, moving back to the mainland when there weren't enough places left to explore. Until October 2006, I lived about 30 miles west of Yosemite National Park, in the tiny community of Greeley Hill, California. As the sign says when you enter, the population is "friendly", and the elevation is "just right". I'm currently living in Taos, NM along with my Dad, who works for the Forest Service office here. Okay, I'm still living with my Dad, but who can't appreciate free rent and a crazy fun-loving parent who's liked by everyone?

About The Site...

After leaving my homepage outdated since high school, I decided I'd finally scrounge up some content and rewrite my home page. The title, Celestium, is taken from the Latin for "sky", which is what forms the background of this page. If you came here before and thought that the colors were a bit different, you're right! The page changes every couple of hours depending upon the time zone where I live (PST). If it's night here, you'll see stars on the background, and the horizon at the bottom will change accordingly.

Every page in this Celestium is generated on the fly by a Perl script, which chooses the right style based on the time of day. Each image and line of markup was composed by myself from scratch using Photoshop and a text editor.
