  Nala told Simba that everyone thought he was dead, and that Scar had told them about the stampede that killed his father. Simba cautiously asked Nala what else Scar had told them, but she exclaimed that nothing else mattered. Since he was alive, Simba was king, which was a great surprise to Timon and Pumbaa. The two lions went for a stroll in the jungle. Nala told Simba that Scar had let the hyenas take over the Pride Lands, destroying everything and taking all the food. Nala pleaded for Simba to go back and restore the Pride Lands, but Simba refused to accept any responsibility.
