The Lion King Storybook

This is probably the best rendition of the story for beginners without reading the whole script although its targeted more toward younger audiences. There are several small discrepencies from the movie, as well.


The Art of The Lion King

This is the story as described in the book by this name. It's probably the most beautifully told version. The text is nearly written poetically. It also gives song lyrics. (NOTE: Check out CYFtLT for slightly different lyrics)

The Lion King script as transcribed by Brian Tiemann, the maintainer of lionking.org. This is most likely the best script ever compiled on the movie. It has built-in links to various media archives as you read the story and is more descriptive than any script I've seen. This is probably the best way to read the story. Make sure you have plenty of reading time, though.
