  Not long after that, Simba went in search of his best friend, Nala. He found her with her mother, Sarafina, and his mother, Queen Sarabi. He asked Sarabi if he and Nala could go down to the water hole, but Simba really intended to take Nala to the elephant graveyard and prove what a brave lion he was. Sarabi cautiously allowed them to go, provided Zazu would accompany them. But Zazu would never let them go to the elephant graveyard, so Simba realized that they would have to ditch Zazu along the way.
