THE STORY
The Lion King Storybook

Mufasa jumped onto a ledge and set Simba down. Suddenly Mufasa felt the rocky wall crumble beneath his hind feet. He fell backward down into the rushing herd. Badly hurt, he tried to climb another cliff. As he neared the top of the gorge, he looked up and saw Scar. Mufasa pleaded with his brother to help him out of the gorge. Scar leaned toward his brother and pulled him close. Scar whispered softly to Mufasa, "Long live the king!" Then he let go. Mufasa tumbled backwards, finally disappearing beneath the mass of swiftly moving animals.
